EUROZONE COUNTRIES AGAINST OFFSHORES

The finance ministers of the six most powerful economies of the European Union (EU) decided to jointly fight against tax evasion. The finance ministers of these countries (Germany, France, Great Britain, Poland, Italy and Spain) held a joint conference in Dublin.

According to available data, the representatives of the Eurogroup agreed to establish an automatic data exchange about the income of its citizens.

Most experts believe that at the meeting Eurogroup once again tried to force Austria to change their attitudes and laws regarding bank secrecy. Recall, Austria is the last EU country that refuses to disclose information about its tax departments. Minister of finance of this country – Maria Fekter, in turn, criticized the EU attacks on banking secrecy.

According to estimates of European officials, European Union is losing about $ 1 trillion annually in offshore zones.
